Congreso de Europatat, previstos para mayo-junio de 2021 en Dublín, Irlanda.
Las organizaciones Congreso Mundial de la Papa (World Potato Congress Inc.), Europatat y la Federación Irlandesa de la Papa (Irish Potato Federation) lamentan comunicar el aplazamiento del Congreso Mundial de la Papa (World Potato Congress – WPC) y del Congreso de Europatat, previstos para mayo-junio de 2021 en Dublín, Irlanda. La decisión se ha tomado conjuntamente debido a la evolución de la pandemia mundial y para garantizar la seguridad de los participantes.
Originalmente programado desde el 31 de mayo al 3 de junio de 2021, el WPC tendrá lugar del 30 de mayo al 2 de junio de 2022. Como estaba previsto, el WPC será precedido por el Congreso de Europatat, que se celebrará del 29 al 30 de mayo de 2022.
Las tres organizaciones han considerado que la decisión más correcta y responsable en vista de los intereses de la comunidad mundial de la papa era posponer ambos eventos.
Durante los preparativos de los dos Congresos de 2021 se hizo patente el interés mutuo de organizar ambos eventos en Irlanda. Los organizadores se complacen en constatar que este interés inicial no sólo se ha mantenido, sino que incluso ha aumentado.
Resulta evidente el deseo de organizar un Congreso Mundial de la Patata y de Europatat en físico, y los primeros indicios apuntan a que los socios, patrocinadores y ponentes de los eventos de 2021 están firmemente comprometidos a permanecer a bordo hasta 2022.
En resumen, los eventos no se cancelan, sólo se posponen. En colaboración con sus socios WPC Inc. y Europatat, el Comité Organizador Local está decidido a aprovechar al máximo el año extra para organizar un evento conjunto aún más grande y de mayor calidad en 2022.
