Call for Expressions of Interest for the 14th World Potato Congress in 2028
The World Potato Congress Inc. is now calling for proposals from parties interested in hosting the 14th World Potato Congress to be held in 2028.
This Congress, once a triennial event, has gained in popularity and as such, will now to be held every two years. This great opportunity to host the key players from the global potato value chain can prove to be beneficial to the host country and region. Organizing the top international potato industry networking event will not only put your national potato sector on the map, but it will also attract international potato innovation to strengthen the potato value chain in your country. The World Potato Congress aims to gather 1000 delegates and partners from more than 40 countries.
The World Potato Congress not only provides a tremendous platform for promoting the potato industry in the host country but also allows for worldwide promotion of agriculture, business and tourism for the host country.
Since its inception in 1993, the World Potato Congress has been held 11 times with the first congress being held in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Other congress locations past and upcoming include:

- 1997 Durban, South Africa
- 2000 Amsterdam, the Netherlands
- 2004 Kunming, China
- 2006 Boise, Idaho, United States of America
- 2009 Christchurch, New Zealand
- 2012 Edinburg, Scotland

- 2018 Cusco, Peru
- 2022 Dublin, Ireland
- 2024 Adelaide, Australia

If your industry organization is interested in the possibility of hosting the 14th World Potato Congress in 2028, please refer to the World Potato Congress Inc. website at www.potatocongress.org for additional information on bid proposal submissions and hosting requirements. Please note that all bid proposals must be submitted in a Microsoft Word document format and be received via email at info@potatocongress.org no later than September 15, 2023.
