WPC Inc. Opens Application Process for Sponsorship/Bursary Support for the 13th World Potato Congress
The World Potato Congress Inc, (WPC), is an organization committed to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Sustainability Goals, the objectives of which include improving food security and nutrition for all and to find new and better ways to promote sustainable agriculture.
In addition, the “Declaration of Dublin: Fostering Potato Partnerships for Food Security,” adopted by the World Potato Congress Inc., helps set the stage for initiatives to enhance collaboration and advance the global potato industry. The Declaration seeks to promote the linking of global partners together to share knowledge and success stories in the global potato industry.
Under the umbrella of the Declaration of Dublin, and thanks to the generosity of the Diamond and Platinum Sustaining Partners of WPC Inc., over 20 delegates will have the opportunity to receive financial support to attend the World Potato Congress hosted this year by Kenya this October, 2026.

Each year, a portion of the WPC Inc. Diamond and Platinum Sustaining Partner Membership fees are earmarked to support this initiative. Of the over 20 successful applicants, 10 will be supported as a result of the generous donations by our Diamond Partner TriCal Group and Platinum Partners including McCain Foods, AusVeg, J.R. Simplot, IPM Potato Group, Snow Valley, Syngenta, Idaho Potato Commission, WD Potato Ltd., Prince Edward Island Potato Board, Prince Edward Island Department of Agriculture, PepsiCo, SunRise Potato Storage Ltd. and Potatoes USA.
President of the World Potato Congress Inc., Peter VanderZaag, says that “the aim is to provide a voice to development projects around the globe which have a mandate of providing food security for communities. The World Potato Congress Inc. has a long history of supporting delegates who use this opportunity to gain knowledge, make connections and bring home ideas to grow the potential in their own area of the globe.”
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to have their Congress registration fee covered, full accommodation in Naivasha, as well as up to CDN$500 for local travel/regional reps and CDN$1000 for other areas towards the cost of round-trip flights.
