Speaker Announcement: Christella Uwase
In this International Year of the Woman Farmer, we are excited to launch our speaker series for the World Potato Congress 2026 in Kenya: Announcing Christella Uwase!
Christella Uwase is the CEO and Founder of Bountiful Farmers Ltd, a pioneering seed company specializing in the multiplication and commercialization of high-quality Irish potato minituber seeds using Sandponic system in Rwanda.
With a strong passion rooted in her family’s farming background, she champions the power of quality seeds as the true foundation of food security and farmer prosperity in Rwanda and Africa. Through Bountiful Farmers, she has provided internship opportunities to students from different universities, fostering the next generation of agricultural innovators.
We are excited that she will be joining us in Naivasha for WPC 2026 Kenya planned for 26th – 30th October 2026!
She will be presenting on “Driving Inclusivity in Seed Potato Production: Insights from a Youthful Agripreneur in Rwanda”
Kenya Potato Industry: Did You Know?
Kenyan potatoes are known for incredible earthy richness.
It’s all about the altitude! Our potatoes grow in the volcanic soils of the Rift Valley at 1,500m to 3,000m above sea level. That cool highland breeze is exactly what the tubers need.
During the Post-Congress Field Day, delegates attending the 13th World Potato Congress will have the opportunity to view the crops and seed trials grown in this rich earth.
