Presentation Outline:
FreshCrop Ltd. is a potato seed production company in Kenya, adding value along multiple parts of the potato production value chain, including the adoption of apical root cuttings to rapidly multiply high-grade potato seed. This presentation will include the training model used to support their network of 15,000 Share Holder Farms (SHF’s) in Kenya. Christopher Gasperi will explain the service delivery model used to provide a one stop shop from Fresh Crop hubsites for farmers to access certified seeds, the agrochemical and fertilizer inputs, mechanization services, links to financing, and links to markets. His presentation will include the impact it has made in the lives of the Share Holder Farms in Kenya.

About the Presenter:
Christopher Gasperi, Founder & Managing Director of FreshCrop Limited.

Obtaining his Executive Master’s Degree in Administration from Wilkes University, Christopher Gasperi’s background in management and administration extends to both the USA and Kenyan contexts.

Chris reports directly to the Board of Directors, ensuring the mission of FreshCrop is carried out in an efficient manner. He is also an active member on numerous leadership and volunteer committees and is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Nakuru. He is passionate about the environment and is leading an initiative to plant one million trees by 2026.

As noted by WPC President Peter VanderZaag, “If you have ever met Chris, you probably remember his engaging personality and positive outlook. He is a natural leader, visionary and passionate farmer. He is known for his transformational leadership approach and can be found on the farm on any given day working alongside the team.”

In 2023, FreshCrop was awarded the Presidential National Farmers Award for fully commercialized large-scale farm in Kenya.
